About Us
HTTC is a Government owned Tertiary Institution established under the TVET Act, 2025 with the mandate to train and conduct research in Tourism and Hospitality.
First established in 1989 at Fairway Hotel in Kampala as a pilot project under the auspices of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the Uganda Hotel and Tourism Training Institute (UHTTI) that has since turned into a college, has over the years grown
into the leading hospitality training institution in the country.
The college located in Jinja city, along Nalufenya Road, offers two-year Diploma and Certificate courses conducted in accordance with the TVET Act, 2025.
HTTC offers a vibrant and inclusive learning space with comfortable seating areas, vast library resources, computer laboratory, demonstration facilities and expert instructors, among others.

HTTC’s training programmes are fully accredited by the Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVTAB) under Centre No. UVT664. This accreditation confirms the College’s compliance with national standards and its commitment to delivering quality, competency-based hospitality and tourism training aligned with industry needs.
Ugandan Universities Quality Assurance Forum (UUQAF)
HTTC is a recognised member of the Ugandan Universities Quality Assurance Forum (UUQAF), demonstrating its commitment to academic quality, institutional integrity, and continuous improvement through nationally and internationally aligned quality assurance practices.
American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI)
HTTC is a Global Academic Partner of the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI), licensed to offer internationally recognised hospitality training and certification programmes that enhance professional competence and global career opportunities.
