The National Certificate in Hotel Operations is a Competence-Based Education and Training (CBET) two-year programme designed to develop a skilled and service-oriented workforce for Uganda’s hospitality industry. The programme responds to the increasing demand for competent personnel capable of delivering high-quality services in a dynamic hotel environment.
The curriculum is structured to equip learners with relevant practical skills, industry knowledge, and professional attitudes necessary for effective performance. It is aligned with national development frameworks, including the TVET Act (2022) under the “Skilling Uganda” initiative, Uganda Vision 2040, the Tourism Development Master Plan (2014–2024), and the National Development Plan IV, all of which emphasize human capital development and the need to bridge the skills gap in the hospitality and tourism sector.
